Username Investment Ltd. Head Office Launch
From a tiny office of two in Nairobi’s CBD seven years ago to a spacious workplace and headquarters in Westland’s Le’Mac building, the story of Username Investment Limited is dotted with intrigues that can inspire a generation.
During a recent relocation event from The Mirage Tower’s tenth floor to Le’mac Building fourth floor, the firm’s Chief Executive narrated how the power of resilience, tenacity and trust helped him navigate the turbulent waters of the real estate industry and command a sizable share of the market.
“What am witnessing right now is a dream that was far from our thoughts seven years ago. The room was too small. But then we made our first sale, and that set the rhythm for the trust in land purchases we have now,” said Mr Reuben Kimani.
The launch of the new Username Head Office seeks to improve the firm’s working environment and serve clients more efficiently in a more accessible location.
As families come together to make merry this festive season, Username is offering more than 1,000 customers a “Christmas Mbuzi to appreciate our customers.”
Every client who will purchase land with the firm between November and December 31st stands a chance to win a Mbuzi worth Sh5,000. It is also meant to encourage customers who have not cleared their balances to do so before the new year.
“For existing clients to qualify, they are required to clear their payments and join the party. Every winner gets into a draw and stands a chance for a fully paid trip to Thailand, Mombasa and Maasai Mara in January plus other gifts,” said the company’s Sales and Marketing Director Mr Joseph Gitonga.
Last year, Anne Lagat won a holiday trip for two to Dubai, James Omari won a fully paid holiday trip for two to Mombasa while Ronald Maathai enjoyed a holiday trip to Maasai Mara.
The firm has a tradition of appreciating its personnel, and early this year a staff member won a brand new car for outstanding performance, other staff members also won holiday trips, Smart TVs, Smartphones and Shopping Vouchers for their efforts in supporting their employer’s agenda.
Mr Julius Karanja, the Head of Finance and Customer Experience stressed the need for companies to focus more on creating an impact to the people, and shun profit-only oriented strategies that forget about customers and employees.
“At Username, we aim more at transforming lives. When we entered the market, we realized the youth and low-income earners desire to own property. We took it as our obligation to give them this rare opportunity,” said Mr Julius Karanja.
The company has in the past two years won more than 20 local and continental awards for its customer-centric approach to the real estate industry, and gaining a bigger slice of the market share in the process.
Notable awards it has scooped include Real Estate SME of the Year, Best Customer Care on Social Media Award, Land Agent of the Year, Best Diaspora Market Land Selling Agent, Best Land and Investment Company and Best New Entrant in Customer Service Innovation Awards.
It appeared in position 21 in the Top 100 Mid-Sized Companies Awards in Kenya organised by the Business Daily and KPMG last year.
Mr Gitonga expounded that this can be attributed to the culture of trust that has been cultivated among clients over the past years where over 6,000 title deeds have been issued.
However, there has been over-reportage of how innocent Kenyans fall prey to the ugly fangs of well-orchestrated land fraud, and end up losing lifetime savings, in a struggling economy.
“Despite the challenges in this industry, we have been committed to restore trust among land buyers. This has seen us serve over 8,000 clients and open two more offices, one in Nairobi CBD and another in Nakuru in our bid to come closer and listen to them,” he said.
The firm has been spreading its wings to the United States, Europe and Middle East, thanks to its interactive online team that engages overseas clients one on one, in real time.
“We now want to focus on the African continent and help people invest their hard-earned cash without the fear of being defrauded.”
Mr Kimani revealed that the firm allows customers to deposit as low as Sh15,000 per month in an installment payment plan, with some property being as affordable as Sh149,000.

To attract potential buyers, the company delivers title deeds within six months upon completion of payment. The Legal Department oversees the documentation process when you are filling in an Offer Letter, Sale Agreement and Title Deed Transfer Form.
